Vultures

This song meant a lot to me this morning. Heavenly Father knows what I needed to hear... he must be manipulating my iPod's shuffle function.

Vultures
John Mayer

Some of us, we're hardly even here

The rest of us, we're born to disappear
How do I stop myself from being just a number
How will I hold my head to keep from going under?

Down to the wire
I wanted water
But I'll walk through the fire
If this is what it takes
To take me even higher
Then I'll come through
Like I do, when the world keeps
Testing me, testing me, testing me

How did they find me here?
What do they want from me?
All of these vultures hanging
Right outside my door
I hear them whisperin'
They're tryin to ride it out
They've never gone this long
Without a kill before

Down to the wire
I wanted water
But I'll walk through the fire
If this is what it takes
To take me even higher
Then I'll come through
Like I do, when the world keeps
Testing me, testing me, testing me

Wheels up
I got to leave this evening
I can't seem to keep these vultures
Out of my trail
Powers is made, by power being taken
So, I keep on running to protect my situation

Down to the wire
I wanted water
But I'll walk through the fire
If this is what it takes
To take me even higher
Then I'll come through
Like I do, when the world keeps
Testing me, testing me, testing me

Oooooh
Oooooh
Oooooh
Oooooh
Whatcha gonna do about it
Whatcha gonna do about it
Whatcha gonna do about it

Don't give up, give up
Don't give up, give up, give up
Don't give up, give up
Don't give up, give up, give up

And to you Mr. Vulture,
It is people like you that make me want to be better... to make the world a better place.
...To give kids hope in life. Don't even try to bring me down.

Nice song. It's good to have you back!! I missed you while you were not posting for a while!
xoxoxo

PS don't you just love Mayer's song "Who says"? I just feel guilty listening to him sing about getting stoned. :)
